How do I put pictures from all different folders in "My Pictures" to one organized folder?

My pictures on my computer are really unorganized, and I want to put them into organized folders. Such as a folder for "Friends", "Family", etc. But whenever I try to copy and paste them into a new folder it just creates copies for every picture, and not in the folder I want it to be in, so now I have like 3 copies of every picture. I need help please.

Don’t use COPY/PASTE, use CUT/PASTE.

Another cool thing:
If you can see the contents of both folders
at the same time, instead of dragging the
pictures between the folder, try using the
right mouse button and RIGHT DRAG the
pictures. Once you release the mouse
button, it will ask if you want to move or
copy the pictures.
