hair dressers: do you find it easier when your client brings in a picture of what they what done?

sometimes i bring pictures and never get what i want
sometimes i dont bring a picture and still never get what i want
sometimes i bring a picture and its picture perfect
sometimes i dont bring a picture and its exactly the way i want it

is it easier or just more confusing?
