I am trying to find a book I loved as a child. I have no idea what the title is, but it was a full-color picture book in the style of a "Choose your own adventure." However, I am quite sure it was made by a different company. It featured a monkey and each page had different paths you could choose from, and based on your choice you would turn to one page or another. There were cannibals, quicksand and other terrible obstacles along the way. Surely there is someone else out there who knows the book and can tell me more?
it had very little in the way of written plot. it was mainly visual. The only characters were the reader and the monkey companion, I believe.
Thanks so much II2! Thanks to you I found the book! It is "Jungle of Peril" in the Choose-Your-Challenge series! You just made my year!
It is "The Fairground of Dread" by Patrick Burston? I don’t know the details of the obstacles, but it features a monkey. "While trying to keep Professor Killjoy from releasing his dreaded antilaughing gas, the reader chooses from a variety of paths through an abandoned fairground and thereby controls the course of the story."
You can see the cover here. Maybe it will ring a bell. http://www.amazon.com/Fairground-Dread-Choose-Your-Challenge-Gamebook/dp/0763601373/?tag=24680e-20
