How do you make a picture book, assignment?

This is for my year 8 assignment.

Well i have to make a picture book, and i don’t know where to start. Its meant for young children, i have to use short sentences and simpler vocabulary as well as lots of pictures so they can understand the story.
And its based on a chapter of a book, which is a short novel story. Please help me, tips? anything will help.
i dont know where to start..

Start with the story. Make your story simpler by using easier words, short sentences and graphic images. Some help can be reading Narnia books to see what kind of language to be used. They are perfect children books.
After that collect all the pictures you get and put them in appropriate places.

focus on the words first, they have to be simple but still manage to get the message across.
just pick out the important parts of the chapter you’re doing and try and be descriptive, but a very simple description

I had to make one last year for my Children’s Lit class. I simply made a ABC/career book. Each page had a career that started with the corresponding letter. My teacher loved it and thought it should have been published.
