what is best camera for picture quality i want to turn into posters?

Posted by admin on March 4th, 2010 and filed under picture posters | 3 Comments »

You want a photo enlargement that is poster size? Convincing photo printing requires 100 pixels per inch. A 24×36 enlargement then is 2400 x 3600 pixels. However many digital cameras are 4:3 aspect ratio so you will need 2700 x 3600 pixels for full width, or about 10 Megapixel (non-interpolated). That is only if the original is perfectly framed, no cropping needed.

Traditionally, professional photographers use medium or large format film cameras for this purpose. Medium format is 2 inch film, various aspect ratios are available. However 35mm film can be scanned with good equipment at 2400 x 3600 pixels resolution.

You need to consider how the enlargement will be created. If it is to be computer printed, then all options are available. You need to confirm what your lab will need in order to make the print from film.

When i think of posters, it is as commercial advertising. In this case, the photo content is really a background element, and cropping is more critical issue than pixel count. Also printing will be by lithography which has its own special requirements for screening.

do you know a picture book about depression?

Posted by admin on March 4th, 2010 and filed under picture book | 2 Comments »

i need to write a picture book about depression for an english assignment and i’d like a few ideas.
i don’t really need ideas on how to set it out. i more need to read one.

I have a book called The Blue Day Book that is essentially photos of cute animals and a sentence or two to go with each picture. It’s supposed to be motivational and make you feel better…it’s not totally about depression, but it made me smile through a couple sad years.

Check it out, it might give you some ideas.

How do you get a good picture of Christmas Lights at night with a digital camera?

Posted by admin on March 4th, 2010 and filed under christmas picture | 6 Comments »

You need a tripod to do it right. You can get one at any camera shop or at several places on the internet, although a local shop would be the fastest. If you have a point and shoot (small) camera, you don’t need a very fancy tripod, so you can get one for $30 or so.

If you can control the ISO, set it at 400. If not, choose the "night scene" option on your mode dial, or whatever is similar.

In addition to that – and this is very important – use the delayed shutter release feature. The icon for this looks like a picture of a watch or a clock. You will push the button and then you wait 2 to 10 seconds (depending on your camera and how you set it) before the actual picture is taken. This way, there will not be any blur from your hand shaking the camera and you won’t have to actually hold down the button during the exposure. Just push the button and let go and wait for the picture to be taken.

Personally, I recommend taking Christmas light photos without the flash, because otherwise, it will just look like an ordinary house in your picture.

my boyfriend want a nude picture of me?

Posted by admin on March 4th, 2010 and filed under picture of | 2 Comments »

im 15 and my boyfriend wants a naked picture of me and i was just wondering if this is a good idea. i trust him with my life and i know he would keep it private and should i shave "down there"?
thx for your help xxx

I won’t try to tell you if it’s a good idea, because this is a very personal decision. But there are a couple things you need to keep in mind.

Since you are under 18, it would be illegal to take a pornographic picture of yourself. But nude doesn’t have to be porn. Basically as long as the picture doesn’t draw attention to your crotch it should be okay (in theory at least). From that standpoint it might be better not to shave.

The other problem, is even if you trust your bf completely, what if someone else gets access to his phone/computer? You could mitigate the risk by not putting your face in the picture, but would also make the picture alot less intimate and appealing to your bf. Tough call on that one.

Best time of day to take a picture of car?

Posted by admin on March 4th, 2010 and filed under car picture | 9 Comments »

What is the best time of day to take pictures of car? So the color looks the most vibrant..etc?

You can take a photo of a car anytime during the day, or night even. It all depends on the look you want to achieve. Shooting under a blue, slightly cloudy sky is great for closeups of details, especially chrome, since you can get dramatic reflections.

If you want the most accurate color posible, shoot under shade. This will keep unwanted reflections that can change the look of a car to a minimum. Park your car on a light colored surface. This will make your tires look darker and help underlight the carriage. Also park away from anything, such as light posts and signs, that will put weird reflections on your car. Depending on how you want your car to look, you might want some sky reflecting off the top of the car as this will accent the curves. The point where the top of a building stops and the sky starts looks great when reflected on the fenders.

Check out http://www.jw-photo.com for ideas on the set up. Notice almost all the photos were shot in the shade, but they use light and reflections to exagerate certain parts of the car.

Car photography is all about using reflections that exagerate the curves of your car, and blocking the reflections that make your car look bad.

Are there any free picture altering websites or software?

Posted by admin on March 4th, 2010 and filed under free picture | 4 Comments »

I want to cover up part of a picture, or just cut the unwanted portion off. Thanks for any help.

Ms paint that comes with microsoft windows is a good free program to do some basic picture altering. Just find and right click on your picture file then select open with ms paint.

Google Irfanview, that is another free program that allows you to view and manipulate many different types of files.

How do I make pictures of objects that have no background?

Posted by admin on March 4th, 2010 and filed under pictures | 8 Comments »

I see pictures on Ebay and other trade sites that have pictures of merchandise that have no background. Only the item is in the picture. How can I do that with my merchandise? What picture editing software would I need?

They are most likely shot in a light tent with a white background and a white surface.

This gives the appearance that the item is not sitting on anything, and if you need to cut the item from teh background, you will have a uniform color to extract from.

WIll neopets alert you if your picture is not accepted into the art gallery?

Posted by admin on March 4th, 2010 and filed under picture gallery | 1 Comment »

Ahahah. Sorry. Neopets question. ^^; I have not been on the site for a while; my memory is fuzzy about the whole thing. I recently entered a picture into the art gallery and know that Neopets alerts you when your comic is or isn’t accepted into their virtual newspaper, but I’m not sure about this.

They won’t tell you. The only alert that you’ll get is if you win. Which will come as a neomail. Hope I helped somewhat :) Good luck in the competition!
