We have to take a christmas picture. any help?

I have three children, 1 girl-14 and 2 boys- 11,13. i want to take a picture at home. Any ideas for poses. i would like something cute but they are getting old so i don’t know how to do that. we do have a fireplace.

Get everyone a Santa hat, and take a close-up of faces.
If you are too close, and doing a flash, you will have a wash-out. To combat that put a sheet of bathroom paper over the flash. It will dispurse the light.

OR

Put the 1 year old in an already wrapped box, (no lid), with the other having the wrapping paper, scissors, tape in hand. and the words, "Some presents just can’t be wrapped."

best plan is to just get everyone all together and take some pictures trying different poses.

you could take a shot of everyone sitting around the fireplace with the family pet, the stockings hung on the mantle and a big sign on the floor at their feet saying merry christmas!
you could do the ‘everyone wears the same sweater’ thing or the ‘everyone wears a santa hat’ thing if you liked.
do you have armchairs sitting there? get the boys each in an armchair with their legs slung over the arm of the chair and have your daughter standing in the middle of the two of them with her arms crossed and doing the famous ‘teen eye roll’ looking as though she has no where to sit.
you could just have them standing together with their arms slung ’round each others shoulders looking happy!
take several shots then get the kids together, and all of you decide what your fave shot is!
whatever you choose don’t get too stressed about it – just have fun with it – that’s what will shine through whatever the pose is! merry christmas~sorry couldn’t help it~i love christmas!

have everyone wear plain colors,,,do not take the eye away from the faces to the clothes…jeans or Dark pants or shirts..have a pet..bring him in…consider a chair a bit to the left or right for someone with some sitting and someone sitting beside them…shoot level..not up///no one looks good with our chins showing…hands out of the way..all depends on how many folks….look good at what you are in front of..nothing that reflects..mirrors,,glass pictures..take lots of pictures so you can have choices..no hats..darkens the face..no feet streached out..makes for really big feet!
