Tutorial on creating a personalised 2010 photo calendar using Paint Shop Pro. A great xmas gift

Looking for a personalized gift this Christmas that will be enjoyed all year?
I will show you how easy it is to create your own personalised photo calendar.
Include images of friends, family, ancestors, or special places on your calendar to remind you of special people or events.
Photo calendars are a very thoughtful unique gift and they last all year.

Please watch the tutorial video first so you can see how quick and easy it really is to make a calendar.

So what do you need to be able to make your own photo calendars?
1) The Calendar templates (these are provided free).
2) Corel/Jasc Paint Shop Pro v7/8/9/10/11/Photo X2 (or any graphics package that supports layers such as Photoshop).
3) 12 images of your choice.
4) A Colour printer
5) Some Matt finish photographic paper (aka high resolution photo paper). I use..
Sumivision Matte Coated Inkjet Paper, this is 128g/m2 and costs just £3 for 100 sheets from a local compueter shop called PCB-Plus at 1 Jubilee Parkway, Derby.

What images can I use with the calendar templates?
I have designed the Calendar templates to be very easy to work with and they are optimized for the most common size of image produced by a digital camera at the time of writing (December 2009). This is a 10 Mega pixel camera which produces an image of 3888 pixels wide by 2592 pixels tall.
You can use ANY image at all with these templates as long at it has a width of at least 1024 pixels across and ideally should have an aspect ratio of 3:2 but this is not that important.
The monthly templates are high resolution 3958 pixels wide x 5545 pixels high so can accept a wide range of photographs, the imported image will be resized to fit inside the frame area on the template so you dont need to worry too much.
They are good enough to print at A3 size if you really want to, if you intend to print A3 then try and use good resolution images to they look nice and sharp.

The images you want to use can be from many sources not just digital cameras.
In the video tutorial you will see I have used all sorts of images from my iPhone 3GS, Canon Ixux 430, Olympus 5050.

How about using old photographs from your family album or your Mum and Dads wedding photographs, University graduation day photos, 50th Birthday party photos.
You are limited only by your imagination, there are so many ideas you can use to personalize your calendar.

The website includes details of how to use Photoshop to make the calendar if you dont have Paint Shop Pro.
Make someones day this Christmas by making a unique personalised photo calendar.

We have to take a christmas picture. any help?

Posted by admin on April 29th, 2010 and filed under christmas picture | 4 Comments »

I have three children, 1 girl-14 and 2 boys- 11,13. i want to take a picture at home. Any ideas for poses. i would like something cute but they are getting old so i don’t know how to do that. we do have a fireplace.

Get everyone a Santa hat, and take a close-up of faces.
If you are too close, and doing a flash, you will have a wash-out. To combat that put a sheet of bathroom paper over the flash. It will dispurse the light.

OR

Put the 1 year old in an already wrapped box, (no lid), with the other having the wrapping paper, scissors, tape in hand. and the words, "Some presents just can’t be wrapped."

How can I get someone in the picture without them being here? (For Christmas Cards)?

Posted by admin on April 27th, 2010 and filed under christmas picture | 1 Comment »

I want to make some Christmas cards of the family. My question is, if someone can’t be here for the picture, is there a website I could go to and just put them in? Anything will help. Thank you!

Sorry if this is in the wrong spot…

No websites…Photoshop would usually be expensive and unrealistic looking in most cases. I don’t know your situation, but I once did a family portrait in which the husband was in the service overseas. They brought an 8×10 of him without glass in the frame and it was held on the Mom’s lap with her children around her. It was very touching!

Is your Christmas picture perfect?

Posted by admin on April 24th, 2010 and filed under christmas picture | 1 Comment »

I’m curious to know how many people have the traditional holiday meal, everyone all happy and singing carols around the fire. I know when Christmas comes, I get bad memories, a small family that has been torn apart and goofy shows on TV that don’t depict what the holidays really are.

my family, myself, my life and least of all christmas-will never be perfect.
nothing in life is…christmas is rather commercial in my opinion ( but dont get me wrong, i do want that Chanel perfume he he)

How far in advance do you take Christmas pictures of babies?

Posted by admin on April 23rd, 2010 and filed under christmas picture | 8 Comments »

I was thinking of taking her next weekend but she will be so much bigger when its time to actually mail Christmas pictures out then she is now, she’s 4 months and on Christmas she will be 7 months. Her mom thinks we should wait until November or early December but I am not sure that we will have the time to mail them out and have them get to my relatives by Christmas.

Its a tradition in my family. Any time a new baby is born in my family the babies Christmas picture hangs on everyone’s tree. Dont ask why, we do it because I dont know.

Do you all have a Babies’R'Us with a kiddie kandids portaits in your town? If so you can wait and get them done there, because they print them off for you in about 15 minutes after you take them. Than all you have to do is write out the envelopes, and put stamps and your set.
