How do you get a good picture of Christmas Lights at night with a digital camera?

You need a tripod to do it right. You can get one at any camera shop or at several places on the internet, although a local shop would be the fastest. If you have a point and shoot (small) camera, you don’t need a very fancy tripod, so you can get one for $30 or so.

If you can control the ISO, set it at 400. If not, choose the "night scene" option on your mode dial, or whatever is similar.

In addition to that – and this is very important – use the delayed shutter release feature. The icon for this looks like a picture of a watch or a clock. You will push the button and then you wait 2 to 10 seconds (depending on your camera and how you set it) before the actual picture is taken. This way, there will not be any blur from your hand shaking the camera and you won’t have to actually hold down the button during the exposure. Just push the button and let go and wait for the picture to be taken.

Personally, I recommend taking Christmas light photos without the flash, because otherwise, it will just look like an ordinary house in your picture.

I would like to take a picture of my grandparents who passed away and possibly restore it for my mother for christmas. I would like to blow it up to a nice size, print it in good quality, and then have someone professionally mat and frame it. Does anyone know a store which does this? or a website?

Mpix now offers all of that, once you have done any resoration work yourself.

I need a fairly limited budget(probably < or = 100 USD) silver-metal bracelet that has a heart on it that opens up with a picture of us inside of it. It, on the outside, needs to have our names engraved.

check your local jewellery store if not check online

that is so sweet im sure she will love it

I want to put our picture on one of those Christmas cards but I don’t know where to go or how to do it. Does Petco do this?

Look in the phonebook under photographers and call around and see who will take photos with pets.

Any good Christmas card santa quotes with a picture of a crying baby?

Posted by admin on February 16th, 2010 and filed under christmas picture | 5 Comments »

My 20 months old daughter was TERRIFIED of Santa. Last year her picture was super cute, but this year it was a nightmare. She was crying, kicking, and screaming as I sat her on Santa’s lap. I bought the picture anyway (for our family album) but I really want to put it on our Christmas cards.
Have any ideas of a cute and/or funny quote to go along with it on the cards to our friends and family?
Thanks in advance!

I would say do it like those comercial like this
dress $50
shoes $20
look on babys face when i sat her on santas lap priceless

Christmas decorations in picture frames for a Christmas party…?

Posted by admin on February 14th, 2010 and filed under christmas picture | 3 Comments »

Ok, so my bf and I are having a Christmas party at his apartment for like 20 of his college friends. The walls in the living room are pretty plain so he wants to hang some picture frames up with prints in them. Some are collage frames, 4×6, 5×7, etc.
The problem is, what to print??
He wants some photographs of like cool buildings and stuff, background pictures, nature, etc.
I thought it would be cool to put pictures of penguins, snow angels, igloos, polar bears, snowflakes, snowshoes, etc.
We want all pics in black and white probably…
So what do you think??

i think its a great idea. you should use something that you could leave up all the year round like Ansel Adams prints, he has some fantastic black and white images lots of them are trees with snow on them, mountains with snow on them etc. these kinds of classic pics look good 365 days a year.
