… and btw i agree that american sports/muscle car engines are good, but the cars let themselves down by having crap suspension, axels and gear boxes – consequently this is why american cars are internationally renowned for having poor handling as the car has too much power for the suspension and differential to take

You are the first person who has ever said that fords look good! oh wait they had 2 about 40 years ago – the mustang and gt40. but the general looks of modern fords are butt ugly and the build quality atrocious as they are too plasticy. i think thats why ford/general motors almost went bussed because they are generally poor quality cars … like american cars in general

i see db9s near harrods all the time, nobody looks at them parked next to fords. cl63 drives by and the world stops moving, everything is in slow motion. even the dbs (db9 with botox) cannot match the cl63 or cl65 IMO.
the problem isnt the engines its the weight & build quality. they weigh more than big american cars! bentley and rolls royce have good engines but the weight is too much and over designed. db9 is like the cover of playboy, very glossy but no substance but cl63 is hustler

and fyi i was talking about the aesthetics of the car and not the mechanics. if we are talking about mechanics then i would have to agree with you in the sense that AM were going for style over substance with the DB9. Germany is notorious for making good engines, unlike us Brits who’s car engines are notorious for being like kit car engines but in reverse

beauty and taste is a personal choice. i suggest you stop agreeing with every word you hear on tv programs and start using your own brain and decide for yourself rather than just accepting whatever others say. you prefer the db9? thats your choice. I prefer the benz and thats my choice. there are dozens of ex db9 owners who have made hate websites describing their horrors in owning an AM.

i love the way topgear avoided testing the merc cl63 amg so it wouldnt have to compare it to a db9. the cl63 makes a db9 look ordinary and over priced not to mention unreliable. db9 0-60 in 4.5 secs but it breaks down after 2.5 secs lol. you cant beat german engineering not matter how many curves or leather you throw at it.
